Cleveland Department of Public Health

The Office of Communicable Disease Surveillance and Epidemiology (OCDSE) is responsible for conducting statistical analyses to develop epidemiological reports to track disease patterns and the burden of illness within the community. The epidemiological reports are used to inform health officials and the public, in order to select target health interventions and shape health policy. Examples of reports produced through the OCDSE are presented below:

Weekly influenza surveillance reports are prepared by Office of Epidemiology and Population Health. While seasonal influenza (flu) viruses are detected year-round in the United States, flu viruses typically circulate during the fall and winter during what's known as the flu season. It starts in Week 40 (early October) and lasts until Week 20 (mid-May) of the next year.

All data are preliminary and may change as more reports are received.
